Raindance Alive – a new successful team of spray types

Raindance Alive delivers exactly what your customers expect from a hansgrohe shower, combining the two most popular hansgrohe spray types, RainAir and PowderRain, while also pampering with a massage spray. It treats your customers to refreshing, high-quality design language and immerses them in sensual worlds of wellbeing that also conserve water. 

A successful trio of spray types 

  • PowderRain impresses with micro-droplets that envelop the entire body. The ultra-fine shower spray resulted from Hansgrohe spray research and is based on a completely new design for the spray nozzles. PowderRain is as quiet as a whisper and offers a particularly relaxing experience of water.
  • RainAir offers relaxing shower rain, perfect for blissful showering experiences. The air-enriched water feels particularly soft and voluminous, and evokes mental images of light summer rain. 
  • Massage joins PowderRain and RainAir as the third spray type offered by the Raindance Alive hand shower: a powerful massage spray that can blissfully relieve tension with its rotating helix.

Spray types encased in a homely look 

With Raindance Alive, the spray nozzles are concealed by a unique and stylish mesh-effect cover. Whichever spray type is used, water droplets cascade organically from the fabric-like mesh surface, giving the shower a homely character.

Water spray technologies put to the test: researched and tested thousands of times


Whether shower rain or massage sprays, gush sprays or micro-fine water droplets, they are all developed in the hansgrohe spray laboratory. In addition to the perfect spray pattern, our experts even check the noise level of the shower.

To do this, we develop the product in our in-house laboratories and analyse every last element: from the cartridge through the formation of the spray and the size of the droplets to the acoustic ‘fingerprint’ of the shower spray. The aim is to achieve the perfect interplay between showering pleasure, simple cleaning and efficient water consumption.

Through this work, the innovators at Hansgrohe also develop innovations, such as the spray disc with FlexPower technology, which independently adapts to changes in water pressure. This is achieved through the supple Flex nozzles in the spray desk, which are shaped like a cloverleaf and even out fluctuations through dynamic movements.

Every new spray type is subjected to an intensive water test. The spray pattern should be attractive and powerful – even at low water pressure.

Hansgrohe conducts research to provide optimum water experiences. For example, ultra-fine shower sprays improve the splash behaviour and provide greater enjoyment when showering.

All hansgrohe showers have to fully rinse out shampoo in a reasonable amount of time. The spray laboratory tests the effect of the water, including using mannequin heads with long hair.

Hansgrohe checks the shower for limescale build-up and simple cleaning.

hansgrohe and AXOR showers are tested for limescale deposits and proper cleaning, so customers can enjoy their shower for as long as possible.

  • A relaxing shower experience is provided by PowderRain, RainAir and SoftRain, among other spray types.

On some of the hand and overhead showers from our range, it is also possible to easily change the spray type. We call this Select technology. This enables your customers to instantaneously tailor their showering experience to their needs, be that effectively rinsing their hair or blissfully lingering under the shower rain.
